Due to a record decline in population growth and birth rates, the Singaporean government has introduced a matchmaking app named "First Date" for its public servants, utilizing the latest AI technology.
The government explains that this app was launched as a pilot project for public servants aged between 21 and 35. It is noted that this is not a conventional dating app, but one specifically designed for those employed in the public sector.
Users can access the app by registering through the national digital identity system and answering relevant questions; it is stated that there is no risk of encountering scammers. The "First Date" app was reportedly created with the involvement of Singapore's Ministry of Defence. Singapore's birth rate has fallen to a historic low; for the first time in 60 years, the number of births has dropped below 30,000, while the elderly population is steadily increasing.
Singaporean Prime Minister Lawrence Wong has also introduced a new scheme to provide a gift of nearly 70,000 Singapore dollars to every newborn child, covering the period up to the age of 17.
