Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) Parliamentarian Namal Rajapaksa has been named as the fourth suspect in the case filed by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption at the Colombo Chief Magistrate's Court regarding the 'Krrish' deal.
The Bribery Commission had previously recorded a statement from him during investigations into the alleged payment of a Rs. 70 million bribe to Namal Rajapaksa through Janaki Siriwardena, a former director of the Krrish company.
The allegations state that the bribe was paid to Namal Rajapaksa on three separate occasions in exchange for his assistance in securing a plot of land in Colombo Fort—owned by the Urban Development Authority—for the Krrish company and for expediting the relevant approvals.
